Northeast Georgia Spring Run

1/2 Marathon * 5K Race * 1-Mile Walk

The Northeast Georgia Spring Run will feature a half-marathon, a 5K race, and a 1-Mile Walk on April 7, 2012 in Union County. The event will be held at Meeks Park in Blairsville, Georgia.

Registration is available online at www.active.com .

The 1/2 Marathon, the 5K race, and the 1-Mile event will begin and end in the parking area next to the tennis courts and swimming pool. The 1-Mile Walk entry fee is $10. It is a non- competitive event.

The 5K Race entry fee is $15 and the 1/2 Marathon race is $30. Both races will have a First Place, Second Place, and Third Place trophy for males and females. Medals will be given in age divisions for males and females in both the 1/2 Marathon and 5K Race.

Competitive age divisions are: 6 -15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-over. The 1/2 Marathon begins at 9:00 a.m. The 5K begins at 9:15 a.m.. The 1-Mile walk begins at 9:30 a.m. T-shirts will be available on race day for those who pre-register ten days before the race. Those who register after that and on race day can have t-shirts mailed for a charge of $5.

Proceeds from the event benefit the American Red Cross and Union County groups including Special Olympics, Family Connection, Meals on Wheels, Shop with a Cop, Christmas Give-a-Gift, and Community Easter Egg Hunt.

The event is coordinated by the Northeast Georgia Run Committee. Participants agree to run and participate at their own risk. Participants should confirm with a doctor that they are healthy enough to participate in these activities.
